Interesting insurance professionals will strike some as an oxymoron (like “jumbo shrimp” or “essential government worker”) but here are 5 insurance professionals whose content on my LinkedIn feed always prompts me to take the time to read what they’re saying.
They are NOT official LinkedIn influencers with a zillion followers either.
They are just interesting, thoughtful people in the insurance industry (Now, that may be an oxymoron! Some like my articles and posts too, which helps me to like them.)
Anyway, I suggest that you follow all 5 of these insurance folks on LinkedIn in 2018:
Anson Thompson. Anson runs an unconventional insurance agency in Indiana and Colorado (interesting choice of 2 cold states to live/work). He posts — most every day — about business and life in a unique, upbeat, and easy-to-digest style.
Barry Rabkin. An industry analyst, truth teller, and charming curmudgeon, Barry regularly skewers the vacuous “InsurTech” clique for their lack of intellectual rigor regarding the insurance business. I enjoy how much Barry relishes the inevitable demise of Lemonade and similar goofball insurance start-ups.
Brent Kelly. Brent is a commercial insurance producer turned insurance producer coach and trainer with Sitkins. He’s also busy raising 5 children with his wife so he’s got a lot of life energy and it comes across in his LinkedIn articles.
Bill Wilson. Bill retired from the Big I about a year ago and publishes an interesting weekly blog (insurancecommentary.com) and also hosts a private LinkedIn group (creatively named) InsuranceCommentary.com. Bill’s an industry veteran and a great writer who brings a sharp wit and refreshingly snarky bent to his commentary.
Tony Canas. A self-described insurance superhero-in-training and co-founder of insnerds.com, Tony’s a gung-ho advocate for Millennials in the insurance business and for talent development in the industry.
